May 11th!!!

Page #1 of 4!

This morning, after celebrating Mass with some English speaking students from the Angelicum, Fr. Luke, Fr. Wolfram, and I went for an Italian version of an American breakfast. It was good, but Denney's would not recognize it! Fr. Luke and I then went to see the Basilica of the Twelve Apostles and in the afternoon I scandalized Fr. Richard, the priest that I had dinner with on Sunday, because I went to see several churches without my cappa! It seemed like it was too warm! Anyway, it was a pleasant walk up the Via Nazionale amidst mobs of tourists and locals!

This painting of Saint Dominic is over the sacristy of the Angelicum.

Here we are at Flanan's Irish Pub on the Via Nazionale. The waiter seemed quite used to taking photos for tourists!

This lion guards the entrance to the Basilica of the Twelve Apostles.

This is the interior of the Basilica...incredible! Our receptionist at the Angelicum had her baby baptized here.

The main Altar of the basilica.

Amazing ceiling are in all churches and so few people pay attention to them!

The Basilica of San Vitale was closed when I got there, but these doors are quite old.

This is a very simple design from the 4th Century! It is now about 30 steps below the Via Nazionale.
