May 13th!!!

The only page!

After getting up at 4:30 AM for a 5:00 AM trip to the Leonardo da Vinci Aeroporto di Roma, I began a long journey back to the USA. The flight from Rome to London was only about two hours, but I had a five-hour layover in London. The Business Lounge made that stay much more comfortable and pleasant. The next part of the journey was the ten-hour flight from London to Seattle. I was able to get some sleep on the plane and that made things much more comfortable. After arrival in Seattle, I had to wait two hours for the flight Portland. I am grateful to Fr. Anthony Patalano for fetching me from the airport.

This was a great trip to the Eternal City! And what about next year??? Perhaps it is a little early to think about that. As you can see from the last photo today, I still need to get settled back here at Holy Rosary!

So early in the AM Rome's airport is not exactly humming with great activity!!!

After waiting for five hours to begin the flight back the USA, even this long line at Heathrow Airport, Terminal 4, Gate 11 was a pleasant sight!

This was the Boeing 747-400 jet that flew ten hours London to Seattle. I was seated near the second window you see after the escape door.

What a mess!
