May 12th!!!
Page #1 of 3!
This morning I went to Saint Peter's for the Wednesday General Audience. At the last minute, I was able to get tickets for reserved seating from our Curia at Santa Sabina. While I was not as close to the platform as I was last year, still it was a good place to be and participate in this celebration of the universality of the Church. Who knows how many people were there and where they were from? It is true that the Piazza was not anywhere near being filled, but you can sense the high spirits and affection for the Pope. I am grateful for the chance to have been there and you were all in my prayers and thoughts at this special moment.
Before I headed off to Saint Peter's, I took some photos of our Church of Saint Dominic and St. Sixtus. This is the sanctuary of the Church. |
This is a statue of Our Lord and Mary Magdalene. Fr. Parsons, my scripture teacher, said Mass here every day. |
Here we have a view of the side aisle of the Church. |
The ceiling! What else!!! |
Saint Dominic is testing his teaching with that of the heretics. Because his books weren't burned, he won the battle! |
This is the rear view of the Church. As you remember from earlier days' photos, the church is often used for weddings. The couple must pay, however €400.00 to use the church. |
This was taken about 9:50 AM today and the crowds are already gathering. |
They use several giant TV screens so that everyone can have a view of what is going on at the stage. Right now, as you see, they are simply showing the façade of Saint Peter's. |
